Nobody likes slow Wi-Fi, but
If you live in a smaller house or apartment, I recommend trying a Wi-Fi range extender before buying a set of expensive routers, and my favorite one is currently as an Amazon deal of the day.
I just set mine up again this past weekend and was reminded of how useful a gadget this is, especially for non-techies.
Setting up this is easy: plug it into an outlet that's halfway between your router and a dead-zone, and follow a short set of instructions to connect it to your router. When I set mine up, the entire process took me about five minutes.
Besides its easy setup, I like recommending for two big reasons. The first is that you don't have to worry about any cables; it plugs directly into the wall and looks pretty inconspicuous. The second is that because it extends your current network, you don't have to worry about learning a new network name or keeping track of different passwords.
Your devices will all connect to the network normally, whether you're receiving a signal directly from the router or the range extender.
If you're constantly frustrated because one room or part of your home is a Wi-Fi dead zone, do yourself a favor and pick up while it's on sale today. It's the cheapest solution I recommend to a problem nobody wants to deal with.
